Focus sur notre Tencel

Notre Tencel vient de chez Somelos au Portugal, une entreprise familiale fondée en 1958. Les fibres Tencel, ici certifiées Lenzing, proviennent de la cellulose de bois, dissoute dans un solvant non-toxique. Ce solvant étant récupéré à 99,77%, le Tencel est produit dans un circuit à boucle quasi-fermée. Les forêts de pins, d’eucalyptus, de bambous utilisées pour la fabrication du Tencel sont spécifiquement plantées et sont certifiées durables. De plus ce sont des espèces qui n'ont pas besoin d'une irrigation intensive. Toutes ces raisons font du Tencel une fibre à faible impact environnemental.

Pourquoi ce choix d'oxford ? Initialement utilisé sur de la chemise, c'est l'un des tissages les plus résistants. Il se distingue aussi par la douceur qu'il apporte à la matière finie et sa facilité d'entretien, il est hypoallergénique et respirant.
