How Did We Design This Women's Pyjama?

Our priority in creating this loungewear collection was to find a material that is both comfortable and breathable, with structure and softness. For this, we chose a blend of OCS-certified organic cotton and Tencel. Tencel is a viscose with a slight shiny appearance similar to satin or silk. Mixing these two materials creates a strong and very soft fabric!

For the design, we chose a set of pants and a long-sleeved blouse. We wanted to create a top that is more than just a simple cotton jersey pyjama t-shirt, to be worn indoors with as much elegance as a shirt and the comfort of pyjamas. The women's pyjama top has a V-neck with a button placket. As we know that the devil is in the details at Angarde, we chose this shape so that the blouse can be easily buttoned and unbuttoned.

For the pants, we chose a simple cut, neither tight nor loose, with a soft elastic waistband for maximum comfort. These pants are intended to be indoor garments, not just for nighttime wear. The Tencel used does not have the shiny appearance of satin that is reminiscent of lingerie; it is more elegant than simple fleece or modal. The colors used are more elegant and understated than black or pink, while still being more practical for everyday wear than a white pyjama. These items have been designed for mix and match, coordinating different pieces in various colors.

What Is the Environmental Impact of This Loungewear Collection?

We know that the environmental impact of clothing is important, which is why we chose this fabric. These pieces have a low environmental impact thanks to Tencel, which is more environmentally friendly than modal, and organic cotton. Tencel fibers, certified by Lenzing, are derived from wood cellulose, which must be filtered and then dissolved in a non-toxic solvent. As this solvent is recovered at 99.77%, Tencel is produced in a nearly closed-loop system. Pine, eucalyptus, and bamboo forests used for Tencel production are specifically planted and certified sustainable. It uses less water than conventional cotton and does not pose health problems for workers or people living near the fields. Additionally, it is less expensive than 100% Tencel materials, allowing us to offer high-quality women's cotton Tencel nightwear at an affordable price. 

Why this choice of Tencel/cotton interlock? Because, beyond being eco-friendly, Tencel and organic cotton are two fibers with properties that are both close and complementary. Both are very soft, hypoallergenic, resistant, and breathable. Tencel, in particular, is often compared to silk or satin due to its slightly shiny and very comfortable appearance, while cotton provides structure to the material, perfect for a warm and elegant women's pajama.

How to Make Your Choice for Your Pyjama?

The first question to ask yourself is: what do you expect from your pyjama? Long sleeves? Pants? Shorts? Prints? Plain? Classic color or, on the contrary, would you be against a striped print? Should the top and bottom of the pyjama match? As style has no price for us, we have matched the colors of the pyjama set with those of the pyjama shorts. You have different options for mixing and matching between the striped print of the shorts and the plain of the pyjama, with colors a bit more original than the classic white, pink, and black. You can also match our pyjamas with our collection of slippers, especially the velvets whose colors are very close, allowing you to vary your options once again.
