An innovative summer shoe

Tired of throwing away our traditional espadrilles at the end of each summer, we sought to modernize this ancestral summer shoe: we kept the timeless and unpretentious look of flat espadrilles we all know, and redesigned the durability of this shoe by adding an ultra-comfortable and water-resistant sneaker outsole and an ultra-comfortable memory foam insole that prevents feet from overheating. Angarde, whose name means "avant-garde" in old French, was born.

Angarde and the search for savoir-faire

Our pairs are distinguished by their very low carbon footprint. We are all aware that the fashion industry is one of the most polluting in the world. This is why we are committed to reducing our emissions by working with great care and efficiency throughout our production chain. Our footprint is calculated by Carbonact, an organization that compares our greenhouse gas emissions to other brands, allowing us to identify and improve our weaknesses. Our espadrille is made from recycled materials and is 100% recyclable. Indeed, Angarde is part of a circular approach to minimize waste as much as possible. It is designed in France with the help of our customers and handcrafted in a family workshop in southern Spain, which we chose for its expertise.

The shoe made by you, for you

To create our models, we first consult our customers to design the perfect color, ideal cut, and optimal comfort together. Placing the customer at the heart of our brand seems essential to us, allowing us to offer them a model that reflects their style. So that all women can always find the right size, we offer models ranging from size 35 to 41. Many colors are also available, including blue, beige, khaki, orange, and pink with glitter. 

Furthermore, we have developed numerous collaborations with several like-minded brands to offer you original patterns. This is how we partnered with artist Dani Garreton, and also émoi émoi for the creation of ephemeral collections. Other unique and creative collections are coming soon to the site. These collections incorporate all the codes of the Angarde espadrille for women but feature an identity unique to the brand with which we collaborate. 

Vegan to the sole

The upper of your pair is made from innovative recycled materials, chosen for their style, environmental impact, and durability: high-end, elegant recycled linen, and easily washable recycled cotton. 

The inner lining, made of recycled cotton or bamboo fiber, allows your shoes to breathe. The insole is shock-absorbing, anti-odor, and memory foam. The rubber outsole is resistant to water and wear. A thin jute braid made of natural vegetable fiber surrounds the outsole, adding an authentic touch reminiscent of the traditional Basque espadrille.

In your package, you'll find a recycled cotton pouch to store your shoes, as well as thin cork insoles to place under your main insoles if you're between sizes or if the pair you received is a bit too large.

To top it all off, when your pair reaches the end of its life, you can send it back to us for free for recycling, and in return, you'll receive a 15% discount voucher for your next order!

At Angarde, we strive to make your life easier. So, to care for your women's espadrilles, you can clean them by hand using cold water, soap, and gently scrubbing with a small brush (a nail brush, for example). But that's not all: some models can also be machine-washed, cold or at 30 degrees without spinning! And that's a game-changer.
