Focus on our knitwear: Tencel & cotton blend
Our knitwear comes from Matias & Araujo in Portugal. This blend of 70% tencel and 30% organic cotton is a soft blend of two high-quality yarns for your greatest comfort. The Tencel fibers, here certified Lenzing, come from wood cellulose, dissolved in a non-toxic solvent. This solvent being recovered at 99.77%, the tencel is produced in a quasi-closed loop circuit. The cotton used in this knitwear is certified organic (OCS). It is therefore less water-consuming than conventional cotton and does not cause health problems for workers.
Why this choice of cotton tencel interlock? Because beyond being ecological, tencel and cotton are two fibers with properties that are both similar and complementary. Both are very soft, hypoallergenic, resistant and breathable. Tencel is often compared to silk because of its slightly shiny appearance, while cotton will provide hold to the material.
