Focus on our knit: a blend of Tencel and cotton

Our knit comes from Matias & Araujo in Portugal. This blend of 70% Tencel and 30% organic cotton is a soft combination of two high-quality fibers for your ultimate comfort. The Tencel fibers, certified by Lenzing, are derived from wood cellulose dissolved in a non-toxic solvent. This solvent is recovered at 99.77%, making Tencel produced in a nearly closed-loop process. The cotton used in this knit is certified organic (OCS), meaning it consumes less water than conventional cotton and doesn’t pose health risks to workers. Why choose this Tencel-cotton interlock? Because, in addition to being eco-friendly, Tencel and cotton have similar properties that complement each other. Both are very soft, hypoallergenic, durable, and breathable. Tencel is often compared to silk due to its slightly shiny appearance, while cotton adds structure to the fabric.
