Focus on our Tencel

Focus on our Tencel

Our Tencel comes from Somelos in Portugal, a family business founded in 1958. Tencel fibers, here certified Lenzing, come from wood cellulose, dissolved in a non-toxic solvent. Since this solvent is 99.77% recovered, Tencel is produced in a quasi-closed loop. The pine, eucalyptus, and bamboo forests used to make Tencel are specifically planted and are certified sustainable. Furthermore, these are species that do not require intensive irrigation. All these reasons make Tencel a fiber with low environmental impact.

Why this choice of Oxford? Originally used for shirts, it is one of the most resistant weaves. It is also distinguished by the softness it brings to the finished material and its ease of maintenance; it is hypoallergenic and breathable.
