How to determine your ideal slipper size?
First, to determine the length in centimeters of your feet:
- Take a sheet of paper and tape it to the floor against a wall.
- Stick your heels against the wall, perpendicular to the wall with your back to the wall, and placed on the sheet of paper that you have just taped to the floor.
- Ask someone to trace the outline of your feet for you. Make sure he or she keeps the pencil perpendicular to the floor to get an accurate measurement.
- Step out of the sheet and measure the distance from your heel (tip of the sheet) to the highest point of your foot by drawing a straight line perpendicular to the base of your sheet.
- Once you have measured the length of your feet, you can refer to the size guide of the brand of slippers you are considering purchasing.
Another possibility is to use the pedimeter provided by the brand: here is our Angarde pedimeter to print . You will find all the instructions for use on it, but above all remember to print it in the correct format, checking before using it that the dimensions of the scale drawn on it correspond to what you have using a ruler.
You can also go to the store to try on the pair. When putting them on, take the opportunity to move around, flex your feet, etc., to ensure that your pair of slippers does not slip and provides good support.
Your toes should not be curled as your wool slipper will not stretch over time. Regarding the width, if you feel cramped at first, that's not a problem: most slippers, whether wool, canvas (linen, cotton, etc.) or leather, will tend to wear on your feet over time: as you walk, your feet perspire, and this slight humidity will soften the uppers of your slippers and relax them. On the other hand, if you are not tight, it is not useful to take a size smaller: the width should not change.
For your Angarde slippers, if you are between 2 sizes, choose the one above because all our slippers are delivered with thin cork soles, to be placed if necessary under your removable insole, to be able to gain half a size. Practical, right?
What size to choose based on the shape of the slipper?
Remember that slipper shapes vary from brand to brand. It is therefore important to take into account the shape of the liner and the shape of your foot to choose the optimal size. For example, if your slipper is rather pointed and your feet are more Egyptian or Germanic, choose half a size larger than the usual one, to prevent your thumb from being too cramped. Conversely, if you have a Greek, Roman or Celtic foot, choose your usual size.
Keep in mind that each liner model may have its own cut and fit. The mules are open at the heel, so you will certainly be less likely to make a mistake: the difference between 2 sizes will be in the support you like at the arch of the foot and will therefore depend on the arch of your foot.
Since each slipper has its own shape, and materials that can vary from one model to another, always follow the recommendations provided by the brand on the product page.
If you are cold or cold and plan to wear your slippers with thick socks, it is advisable to order a half size larger than your usual size to accommodate the extra thickness of the socks. This will ensure a comfortable fit without your feet feeling cramped.
At Angarde, our women's slippers are designed to offer a perfect fit, whether they are our mules or our slippers. All you have to do is choose the model that suits you and select your size!
Choose your size according to the season?
The season and therefore the temperature play an important role in choosing your size.
Regardless of the type of slipper, in summer, due to the heat, our feet tend to swell. If you buy a slipper in winter, thinking that you will also want to wear it in spring or summer, it is advisable to choose half a size larger than your usual winter size.
In this regard, our removable cork insoles are very practical: 2mm thick, and offered with the purchase of each pair of Angarde slippers, they allow you to gain half a size in winter when you add them, or well lose half a size in the summer when you take them off!
How to choose the size of children's slippers?
Choosing a pair of slippers for a child or a baby is not the same as for an adult. A child's foot continues to grow, so it is essential to leave room in their shoe: it is generally said that they need the equivalent of a free finger between the tips of their toes and the tips of his shoe to provide him with enough space for his feet to grow properly.
Opt for models with elastic and soft materials that are easy to put on and adapt well to your child's feet.
In addition, it is important that your child has slippers that are easy to put on with non-slip soles.

Some additional tips:
- Some people prefer a tighter fit to prevent the slippers from slipping. You can opt for your usual size or even a half size smaller. This will give you a better fit. On the other hand, others prefer a looser fit for maximum comfort and to feel more comfortable when your feet are swollen after a day of walking in stiff city shoes. This will allow your feet to move more freely inside the liner. Take this into consideration when choosing your size.
- If possible, try several shoe sizes to find the one that best suits your foot and your comfort and fit preferences.
- If your feet tend to sweat a lot, it may be a good idea to choose slippers made from breathable natural materials such as wool or linen. This will prevent moisture buildup and keep your feet dry and comfortable.
- Check the manufacturer's care instructions to make sure the slippers can be washed or cleaned easily.
- You can also read customer reviews to get a customer feel for the fit of the slippers on the feet. These can provide useful information about the actual size of the product and whether it matches the brand's advice.
Finding the right size slippers is essential to avoid discomforts such as chafing, toes that are too tight, or slippers that constantly fall off your feet. By following our advice, you should be able to choose the appropriate size for your Angarde slippers!
At Angarde, all our slippers are eco-responsible ! They are also 100% recyclable: thanks to our 2nd life program, you can return your pair to us free of charge when it is at the end of its life and we will transform it into green fuel.
